Klutzy? Always. And of course it had to happen at the worst possible moment. Not all bad, though, because Ben needs help with his house renovation, and I need a job. My résumé may not scream “carpenter,” but carpentry involves math, right? And math I can do. The real problem isn’t the hammer and nails. It’s Ben himself. He’s steady, thoughtful, too easy to talk to. And when he kissed me, keeping things casual suddenly felt impossible. But something about him doesn’t add up. Two phones. Secretive calls.
